Coming on Steam Early Access from Argus Games, Techwars Online 2 is Heavy Metal indeed, with giant robots, lasers, jet packs and huge explosions. It's a little rough around the edges, but still fun.
Ok, so let's get the important things over with first. Yes, there's an obscene number of explosions. Yes, there's lots of giant robots, and a generous sprinkling of offensive stereotypes. Oh, and there's a huge 3 headed flying robot dragon that's actually a combiner made up of 12 ancient Transformers. Only in a Michael Bay film could the last part be a footnote.

The recent death of Jerry Doyle got me thinking about many things, not least of which was mortality. A lot of people in the US knew Jerry as a syndicated, right wing talk radio host, with passionate opinions and a thirst for making people think by shaking their certainties, no matter which direction they leaned. A few of you might remember, back before Maxis was chewed up and swallowed by EA, a little game called Sim Tower. Instead of running a city, or a country, or a world, you were in charge of building and taking care of a single building and it’s occupants. It sold OK, but was a niche […]
