Calling all table top gamers! UK Games EXPO is this weekend!
Hey folks, it’s that time again! This weekend will be the UK Games EXPO, the largest card, board and table top gaming event of the UK calendar. This year promises to be the biggest yet as the convention spreads to more rooms at the Birmingham NEC plus a slew of new food options as this year the EXPO is hosting a Food Festival to give the attendees a massive range of food options.
On top of the usual demonstrations, traders and tournaments, new events have been added to the schedule this year:
- Children’s RPG: This includes Five Nights at Scoobys and Second Star to the Right.
- You Awake to Find Yourself in a Dark Room: Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this comedy is based on the text-RPG adventures of the 1980’s, with host John Robertson combining script and ad lib as he guides audience members through a dungeon of the mind!
- Always Be Rolling: Another Award winning comedy, this time from James Cook as he explores the impact of board games on his life and why the ‘classics’ like Monopoly and Risk suck.
- The Bring and Buy: For an event of this size, a BandB would usually have been abandoned. But UKGE has decided instead to up their game and computerise the whole process.
It goes without saying that I’ll be there; hope to see you there too!
