Bone China to be released in early 2015!

Improper Books are delighted to announce PORCELAIN: BONE CHINA by Benjamin Read & Chris Wildgoose. The second volume of their creator-owned Porcelain: A Gothic Fairy Tale trilogy, Bone China is set for release in Spring 2015.

A free, full colour preview of the first 12 pages of Bone China will be available at THOUGHT BUBBLE in Leeds, on the 15th and 16th November. Those not attending Thought Bubble can also pick up a free copy thanks to supporting shops, such as Gosh! (London), Orbital Comics (London), Page 45 (Nottingham), Travelling Man (Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, York).

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Porcelain: A Gothic Fairytale comic I have only one piece of advice – find a copy and read it as soon as possible! The first part of the trilogy has been out for a while now and the authors have been working diligently since its release to complete the second part; the much anticipated Bone China. The second instalment of the story continues the tale of Child, the girl that now, as a grown woman, has taken the reigns of the porcelain empire previously ruled by the man that had changed her life for the better.

In Bone China, more than a decade has passed since the events of Porcelain: A Gothic Fairy Tale, and Child has become Lady. Inheritor of all of Uncle’s secrets and wealth, she has continued his work, becoming equally as isolated in her quest to refine the Porcelain and put right past mistakes.

With the Porcelain more sought after than ever, Lady comes to the attention of a ruthlessly ambitious General who desires inhuman soldiers for the war effort and won’t take no for an answer. Other, more human, problems rear their head when a handsome young Captain discovers a secret part of Lady’s life.

Faced with impossible choices, Lady must forge her own path through the complexities of love and war.

The tale is written by Benjamin Read, illustrated by Chris Wildgoose, with lettering done by Jim Campbell and colouring by Andre May. Being familiar with their previous work, both on the Porcelain trilogy and other comics, I can say I’m definitely excited by the prospect of seeing more of their work. It’s still a bit of a wait until it’s proper release, but we all know time flies and anticipation only makes the heart grow fonder, right? Not to mention there might be a bit of a surprise for those visiting Thought Bubble in Leeds on the 15th and the 16th of November.

What's there to say about me? I love the sci-fi and fantasy genre when I read, but I am in no way limited to that alone. I do think Frank Herbert deserves a statue for his writing(if there is one, point me in that direction, please). I enjoy writing quite a lot, but I am also kinda lazy. If you want to make me happy give me books or Doctor Who collectibles. Or a real TARDIS, in which case I will love you forever.
