‘Gotham’ to add new possible Joker into each episode?
As many of you may know by now, Jon Beavers has been cast in FOX’s new TV series Gotham as a stand up comedian in the pilot episode of their much anticipated show. Ever since the announcement was made there has been the suggestion that this will be the actor who will become the future joker. Could anyone truly blame us? He’s a stand-up comedian currently with no name, there are similarities in the suit etc, it was a valid assumption.
Yet over at BleedingCool a certain Rich Johnson has a rather different idea. What if the fans were thrown Jon Beavers as a ‘cry baby‘ or ‘red flag‘. What if in fact every single episode of Gotham comes out with a possible character who just might be the Joker?
Basically, every episode in the first season will introduce a character that might be a future Joker, each emphasising aspects of the character’s iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin.
All relatively unknown actors. All potentially a Joker. But only one of them being the actual Clown Prince Of Crime.
Now I’m not the only one who thinks this is a great idea, just think about how Twitter and Social Media would erupt after every single episode. This would garner so much buzz about each upcoming episode that if it’s done well would keep the ratings ticking along nicely.
Then again, this could all be happenstance and coincidence, maybe the directors and the producers were being straight with the fans and maybe there are a few of us who have read too much into this. What I do know however is that I will be watching the debut episode of Gotham and keeping my eyes peeled for any hint of a Joker.
