Starsky and Hutch Coming to Birmingham

Prepare to get your seventies funk on this month, when Starsky and Hutch‘s Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky), David Soul (Hutch) and the inestimable Antonio Fargas (Huggy Bear) descend on the Birmingham NEC for MCM Birmingham Comic Con.

Starsky and Hutch followed the escapades of David Starsky and Kenneth “Hutch” Hutchinson as they tore around “Bay City, California” in their iconic bright red Ford Gran Torino (which will also be making an appearance), ably assisted by the informant Huggy Bear.  The series saw them delivering justice to the Bay City underworld for nearly a hundred episodes, which seemingly involved rolling over the bonnet of their car a lot.

Joining Glaser, Soull and Fargas is the former song star Billie Piper, but now more famous for her role as Brona Croft in Penny Dreadful and Rose Tyler in Doctor Who.  Continuing the Doctor Who theme, Greg Austin and Fady Elsayed, who played Charlie Smith and Ram Sighn respectively in Class, will also be there.

Alongside these special guests will be the usual assortment of traders, creators, exhibitors, cosplayers, wrestling and (for some reason) a “glamour” mansion (screened to prevent younger guests from wandering in).

MCM Birmingham Comic Con will be held at the Birmingham NEC on the 18th and 19th March. Tickets are available here:
