The time has almost come for me to join the elite of the comic convention party goers as the Manchester MCM quickly approaches. Due to its huge impact last year and sell out attendance, M-Con 2014 is being held over 2 days at Manchester Central, the weekend of 1920th July

After attending Belfast-Con, a matter of weeks ago for the first time, I’m looking forward to seeing more of the same but on an epic scale. More games, movies and Sci-Fi to quench the ongoing thirst of all Con enthusiasts. Check out the list of attractions, including the new and experienced artistic magnificence of comic book creators at the Comic Village. Watch battling bots cut, drill, flip, crush and melt each other live, with the robots from BBC’s smash hit TV show; ‘Robot Wars’. Watch, or take part in, the ever illustrious Cos-play Masquerade; allowing costume fans to show off their talents in creating and dressing up as their favorite TV and gaming characters. Play some of the newest or up and coming games on the market, on various platforms, at the Games Expo. With a host of retailers selling something to wow even the most un-impressionable of geeks. From authentic autographed film memorabilia, anime and comic art for the die-hard enthusiasts, to drone quadricopters or Zelda emblazoned badges, wallets and belt buckles for the gadget and vintage game lovers.

Special guests this year include:

hilariously lovable “smegheads” from the extremely successful television show ‘Red Dwarf’. Meet Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn, Judy Pascoe and Hattie Hayridge who played Rimmer, Kryten, Camille and Holly. Other special guests include Kai Owen from Torchwood, Ross Mullan who plays the iconic White Walker in Game of Thrones, Bryce Papenbrook the voice actor from Pokemon Origins, Tenkai Knights and Call of Duty: Ghosts, DC Douglas from the Mass Effect and Resident Evil franchises and Vic Mignogna from the likes of Dragon Ball Z:Battle of Z, Star Trek Continues and Doctor Who Online Adventures. All this and much more to be enjoyed. I look forward to seeing everyone there. Unleash your geek!
