This Summer, London’s ‘Secret Cinema’ is bringing the entire town from Back to the Future to the UK at a secret location for very different screenings of the classic film and what is sure to be an amazing experience.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Secret Cinema, the experience offers an incredible opportunity to see a film in a whole new way. Events in the past have included If, Funny Face, Ghostbusters and Blade Runner.
Some of the major scenes from the film are going to be recreated at a top secret location for the unique experience which will offer a totally immersive screening like no offer. The organisers are building the town of Hill Valley in a secret London location, even transporting the audience between the different areas in a DeLorean DMC-12. Part of the audience will play out Marty McFly’s narrative, being transported through time in the DeLorean. The rest of the audience will become part of the two different time zones that Marty travelled between, 1955 and thirty years later in 1985.
The event will even involve an after-party in the form of the ‘Enchantment Under the Sea Prom’ where Marty’s parents first fell in love. This part will take place in venue close to the secret location of the screening. There will be a battle of the bands competition to determine who plays at the ‘dance’ each night.
Secret Cinema presents Back to the Future will take place from 25th July to 14th August this year with 12 screenings, with tickets going on sale at 1pm on Wednesday 4th June. Check out www.secretcinema.org/tickets for tickets when they go on sale. This is most definitely one not to be missed.
