Mass Effect: New Earth – A 4D Holographic Journey

image

Some of you may have already heard by now that Biowares critically acclaimed Mass Effect series is to become a one of a kind 4D holographic ride.

Mass Effect: New Earth will be located in California as one of Great America’s latest attractions. The ride is said to have been created using ‘cutting edge technology’, including 4D effects combined with live performances and incredible special effects, as well as the worlds largest and highest resolution 3D LED screen.

‘Great America guests will be taken on a thrilling adventure across the galaxy where they will travel through awe-inspiring landscapes, face off against bigger than life adversaries and ultimately help save the day’.

The rumour floating around Twitter and Facebook claims that the ride my contain a bridge of valuable information between the final events of Mass Effect 3 and its long anticipated follow up Andromeda, which may be established through story telling within the ride.

‘The dynamic new attraction will feature settings and characters from EA’s critically acclaimed Mass Effect™ videogame series developed by BioWare™ and will open in Spring of 2016′.

Does this mean that we’ll get to see Shepard and the crew of the SSV Normandy return to action one last time before the anticipated release of Andromeda?

As a die hard’ fan of the franchise from ‘across the pond’ I can safely say that that this sucks.

The concept doesn’t suck, the location and lack of availability however for most people who don’t have the time or money to take a casual trip half way around the world just for a ride (no matter how amazing it sounds) sucks.

Instead we’re going to have to sit at home and watch shaky cam footage on YouTube to try and extract any information that may be vital to future story development… in my best Elcor voice ‘with greatest jealousy and deepest sadness’.

Check out the video taken from Great America’s website, who have advised that the ride will debut on May 18th.

What do you think, will you make the long (or short) journey to Great America to experience this?

What other games would you like to see turned into rides?
