Mass Effect Remaster Gets Left Behind

by on 01/09/2016

Earlier last month rumours began to circulate that the much loved Mass Effect franchise was going to be the latest in a long line of games to receive the remastering treatment. This was all down to EA’s very own Executive Vice President Patrick Soderland who dropped hints and raised hopes everywhere by discussing the possibility of a remaster and the current market associated with them.

Unfortunately it looks as though this will no longer be the case.

With the anticipated release of Mass Effect Andromeda, EA’s executive Patrick Moore has now stated during a recent interview with IGN that they are a “company that is focused on delivering for the future” and discussed the probability of a remaster.

“Can we make an easy buck on remastering Mass Effect? Yes. Have a thousand people asked me that? Yes, they have,” Moore added. “We just feel like we want to go forward. There’s a little thing called Mass Effect: Andromeda that we’re totally focused on at BioWare and it’s gonna be magnificent, anything that distracts from Andromeda, including Mass Effect remasters, is not something EA would want to pursue”.

Mass Effect Andromeda has been in development since late 2012 and is still anticipating a March 2017 release.

Although my weekend is now slightly ruined, the thought that EA and Bioware are committing themselves completely to Andromeda gives me high hopes for the future release and sets the bar sky high!
