It is merely a month to go until the Season 3 premiere of The Walking Dead or, as I call it, zombie apocalypse – how not to do it. I personally found Season 2 slow and less action packed then I would have liked and so I have my fingers crossed that Season 3 will ‘bring it’ as they say.
Courtesy of Yahoo the newly released shots include this seasons new characters, The Governor (played by David Morrissey) and Michonne (played by Danai Gurira). The standard season 3 cast shot is there and what may be a very telling image of Rick and his son Carl, who clearly has a gun strapped to his leg.
The tagline “Fight the dead, fear the living” is heavily pushed in this sneak peak trailer. It sets up the prison and the crowds of rotting undead that stand in the survivors way, with a hearty glimpse of zombie bashing to keep you going for another month. However it seems the threat from the living is escalating this season. A theme that has been touched on, but not fully explored in previous seasons. Opening with Lori stating “Do whatever you gotta do…” it appears the reality of what it takes to survive is going to be played out and there may be more horror in what man will do to man than in destroying the skulls of their undead loved ones.
Fingers crossed this season turns out to be as good as this trailer suggests. With some loose ends tied up in the last season, this next one will, hopefully, be a start of more interesting arcs that don’t have me screaming “WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”
