Now that the silly season is behind us, we can focus our attention on something far more important – namely the Sci-Fi Weekender. Less of a convention and more of a festival, the weekend event is one long geek party that celebrates the very best in science-fiction and fantasy.
This year is no mistake, with the actors Brian Blessed and Garrett Wang, as well as comic artist Glenn Fabry. Joining will also be a plethora of authors, including Emma Newman, A. S. Chambers and Sam Stone.
The world’s leading cosplayer Tabitha Lyons will also be making an appearance with her prop-making father Nic Samiotis, who will be providing a series of demonstrations on building costumes.
There will also be a special preview screening of British sci-fi/horror film Pandorica, followed by a Q&A panel with the writer/director Tom Paton and several cast members from the film.
Alongside, there will also be a series of demonstrations by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and the night time entertainment, which is once again brought to you by the fantastical Area 51.
This year’s Sci-Fi Weekender is promising to be another excellent event that every discerning sci-fi geek should attend.
Tickets are still available from here, but don’t delay. When they are gone, they are gone.
