For those with literary leanings and wish to exercise their quills, the Horror Writers Association have organised a script-writing event.
Through interviews, panel discussions and screenings, attendees will have an unmissable opportunity to learn how to write and sell a script from leading members of the UK horror industry, with a number of very special guests. There will also be opportunities to purchase books, have autographs, and to socialise with writers and film-makers.
Speakers so far confirmed, include:
Joe Ahearne, director and scriptwriter of The Replacement and the Ultraviolet series (not to be confused with the Milla Jovovich film).
Jason Arnopp, scriptwriter and author of The Last Days of Jack Sparks.
Stephen Gallagher, scriptwriter, director and author of Oktober.
Simeon Halligan, director of Splintered, The Blood Lands and Habit.
Jennifer Handorf, producer of Prevenge, Minutes Past Midnight, Bait and The Devil’s Business.
James Moran, writer and director of Severance, Tower Block and Cockneys vs Zombies and Primeval.
Stephen Volk, scriptwriter and author of Gothic, The Kiss, The Guardian and The Awakening.
Highlighting Horror will be held on Saturday 17th August at the Quad in Derby.
