The Lord Inquisitor – “Grey Knights” Teaser

If I am to be honest I had long given up on there being any half decent looking Warhammer 40k movie after the abortion that was Ultramarines. A shame as the wealth of backstory and imagination behind the entire franchise is absolutely huge and begging / deserving a good… nay, great conversion to the big screen; or at least youtube.

Having given up all hope of this every happening, I was randomly trawling through the tinterwebs last year when I stumbled across a fan project called ‘The Lord Inquisitor,’ A 40k fan film being made AND (the most important thing here) endorsed (or permitted anyway) by GW; to the point that they actually gave TLI team a Black Library writer to help out, in the form of Aaron Dembski-Bowden.

I followed the news on their website, facebook and youtube closely; hoping and praying to the God Emperor that it would do the franchise justice.

It was then, after many teasers and garbled messages, seeping through the warp, that a new teaser trailer materialised in real space….

Granted the voice over isn’t the best but it looks absolutely superb and if the finished product ends up anything like this, then I will be a very happy Warhammer Geek.

Another insight of The Lord Inquisitor project created and directed by Erasmus Brosdau. This teaser shows a glimpse of the space marines called “Grey Knights”, which will have an important role in the full movie.
Also this teaser marks a new era for independant film making as the whole sequence was entirely rendered in realtime using the not yet released CryEngine Cinebox.

This teaser was rendered on one GTX 780 ti.
