Learn about nuclear physics from GLaDOS in this fun NASA video

“Do you really not know what nuclear fusion is?”

Everyone who has played Valve’s Portal loves GLaDOS, that’s a simple fact. Her sadistic, humourless and robotic tones turned an interesting physics puzzle game into a cult classic, enjoyed by many gamers who would otherwise steer well clear of the puzzle genre. So, how would you like to hear Ellen McLain (the voice of GLaDOS) explain the difference between nuclear fusion and nuclear fission? Well, NASA have just the thing for you.

Unlike other ‘infotainment’ pieces, this NASA video is far less groan-inducing (although, the technicians may still make you cringe). There’s definitely something quite amusing about hearing GLaDOS talk about nuclear physics and I’d be lying if I said that I’d not rather have had this to watch in those old school science classes!

Check out the clip below and let us know what you think!
