In the late 70’s/early 80’s video games ruled the earth. Pixelated adventures such as Pac Man, Missile Command and Space Invaders ate coins across the globe at an alarming rate. The video game giants at the time decided to transfer the excitement of the arcade to the living room.

But the industry overreached itself with lacklustre emulations of arcade classics and disastrously woeful movie tie ins such as ET and Indiana Jones (which infamously ended up as landfill in the deserts of New Mexico). Thus, in ’83 video games came crashing down to Earth.

Now, in 2016, Atari are bringing back 100 of their most famous classics such as Asteroids, Battlezone and Centipede for Steam, showing a new generation of gamers how it was done, old school style.
