Work Starts On Edgar Wright’s Ant Man
Edgar Wright today gave geeks the world over reason to make Twitter explode, by posting an update on the social networking site that reveals that Ant Man has finally started pre-production.
We’ve been waiting and waiting for the first news of Ant Man filming since we saw the blurry test footage that Wright filmed ages ago (check the bottom of this post to see a snippet of it), and what we received was the following glorious tweet:
Now I’m back in LA, it’s high time to finish a little something I’ve been working on… pic.twitter.com/ko3u1q45C4

There’s been a lot of speculation about Hank Pym’s adventures, and with The Avengers: Age Of Ultron appearing on Marvel‘s forthcoming roster, a lot of us initially thought that we’d see Hank incorporated into the movie somewhere – this was not to be, with Ultron’s origin story taking a step away from his comicbook origins at the hands of Pym.
This has had mixed opinions, and with wide speculation that the job of creating Ultron may fall into the lap of Tony Stark instead.
Anyway Ultron aside, I’m looking forward to seeing Ant Man. I was impressed with the brief test footage that Edgar Wright shot, and looking at the contents of the photo above, the style set in that footage has continued, which is great.
Now all we need is a teaser trailer! On Captain America: The Winter Soldier perhaps? We’ll keep you posted as soon as we get more information.
Ant Man is due for release in 2015.
