With ‘38 Studios’ having closed and their assets being put up for auction (Auction Date: November 14th – 15th). The big name that everybody is looking at is ‘Kingdoms of Amalur‘. The commercially successful game made by ‘Big Huge Games‘ under the company umbrella of 38 Studios has been long overdue for a sequel.
This along with an entire back-catalogue of games, including the PC strategy game ‘Rise of Nations‘ and what was meant to be the ‘first triple-A, hundred-million-dollar-plus, free to play, micro-transaction-based MMO‘ known as ‘Project Copernicus‘. Sadly, if a buyer isn’t found in this upcoming auction, all of these games will be put on the endangered species of games list.
I for one will be devastated if there is not another Amalur game, I really enjoyed the graphics, story-line and universe as a whole. Here is hoping that all those affected by 38 Studios closure will find new employment soon, and that their games find new homes as well.
