Any of our Manchester friends who are at a loss for something to do this weekend should check this out – it’s only in its first year of inception but it already looks to be an interesting weekend! Day 1 has finished but it all kicks off again at 10am tomorrow.
Organiser Arun Hackett has given us some more information:
Mancstercon has a core principal: to be an event which supports local creative talent in the fields of comics, animation and writing. This is our first year and we are glad to get host this event at the Madlab, a community space located in the heart of the Northern Quarter.
The convention will be taking place from the 3rd till the 4th of August, with a special preview show for stallholders, contributors to the event and special ticket holders (tickets can be purchased here). The weekend will be packed not only with stalls full of stuff produced by local artists of many sorts but we will also have animation screenings, talks, a cosplay catwalk and a drawoff which we have fantastic prizes for like movie posters and autographed prints!!!
We are also having a Mancstercon party on the Saturday night with multiple themes of music playing from J-pop to geek rock, from video game tracks to monster theme tunes and many more!!!
Tickets can also be bought on the day.
