Books are great, aren’t they? Little bound piles of paper covered in tiny squiggles of ink that can transport you across the universe, deep under the sea, or to other times and dimensions. They can heal you when you are broken and allow you to live a hundred, a thousand lives while those around you are stuck with the one.
If you are anything like me then you live for those perfect reading moments, the moments when the line between the words on the page and the thoughts in your in your head becomes blurred and then disappears; when there is no you and there is no book, there is only the Story.
And then it is gone, the way of all magic, fleeting and too easily dispelled…
But say, wouldn’t it be nice if you could capture that perfect moment and carry it with you in the real world? Well, allow me to direct your attention to a relatively new corner of Etsy, a corner that smells pleasantly of old book shops and solder, where tiny winged beasts scuttle from your path and watch your passing with fiery eyes. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of all ages! May I present to you the home of the Littlebookwyrm…
In Sophie the Shopkeeper’s own words:
I stalk words and capture them and once they’ve stopped wriggling I turn them into pretty things. I use second hand books which are lonely and unwanted and I give them a new lease on life by using them to create something beautiful.
And beautiful they are! Littlebookwyrm takes cutting from unwanted second-hand books and seals the perfect passage under a glass dome to create exquisite necklaces and charms for the discerning book lover. Check out her website link below for a full gallery of her pretties inspired by authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, and J.K. Rowling, and don’t forget to contact her directly if there is a bespoke item you would like her to create.

Nice idea, just don’t do it to comics!
