It’s not every day that we’re given the chance to own a piece of cinematic history, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw that The Hunger Games were going to be auctioning off some costumes from the film, prior to the next instalment’s release!
Now I have to confess, these auctions aren’t for the faint hearted, and if you have even the remotest inclination towards owning one of the principal costumes such as Katniss’ Interview Dress, or any of Effie Trinket’s avant-garde offerings, be prepared to pay some seriously eye watering money – with bidding starting at over $10000 for some items.
Yet for those of us not blessed with a bottomless bank account, the entire auction catalogue is available online and provides a great reference resource for any budding costumers or cosplayers out there eager to recreate one of their favourite looks.
The auction goes live on the 16th November, when more than 200 costumes hit the block, and the online catalogue is available here: So if you’re planning on bidding; may the odds be ever in your favour!
