After Edgar Wright’s abrupt departure from the hotly anticipated Ant-Man movie due to “creative differences” with Marvel, there has been plenty of speculation about who would step into his shoes. Well the search for a replacement is finally over as Marvel have announced that Yes Man director Peyton Reed will be directing Ant-Man. Despite denying claims of his involvement less than a week ago, Anchorman 2 writer Adam McKay has also been confirmed as a contributor to the script.
Ant-Man will star Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Corey Stoll and Patrick Wilson, and Marvel have announced the synopsis for the film:
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
“Ant-Man” has a July 17, 2015 release.
