RIP – Sir Christopher Lee (27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015)

It is with a heavy heart we have learned that at 8:30 on Sunday, at Chelsea Westminster Hospital, Sir Christopher Lee passed away due to respiratory and heart problems.

It is hard to express how sad this is, not only for his family (who are hearts and thoughts go out to) but for the greater geek community as a whole. He has played so many iconic roles in his career and been a massive part of so many peoples lives, for so long, that it is hard to imagine a world without this monolith in it.

There is so much one could say about Sir Christopher, so much that one could discuss and lament at its loss…. personally, as much as this saddens me greatly, I think of the happiness his work has given me and millions of others and I smile and remember that in 93 years, this man lived the lives of over 200 people and achieved more than any one of them could have ever dreamed of.

I posted this Meme on our Facebook page a while back but I think it sums him up quite well, and is the reason he was so well loved and will be so sadly missed:

A true legend in our time and someone who’s shadow will remain cast over our culture and our lives for many years to come

Rest In Peace

Sir Christopher
