September UK Ladies Edition – So we aren’t ones at Geek Pride to shamelessly endorse products but I thought I’d pull together a list of some places which are selling some cool geeky items of clothing, mostly superhero, at reasonable prices. This edition will cater for UK ladies but I will try and make a post about where you can find some cool stuff in American stores as well as male editions. I’m also going to try and cater to a range of sizes so hopefully you’ll find something you like.
So I was pleasantly surprised when I visited Primark for a friend recently to find that Primark had some pretty cool comic book themed tops in stock. Unfortunately Primark don’t have an online store so you would have to visit a shop and I can’t really guarantee they would be present in the shop as their stock seems to alternate from store to store. However, the prices are great – from around £5 to £10 for some tops including a Superman t-shirt, Justice League t-shirt and Batman long sleeved top. I know there are some My Little Pony fans out there and Primark were also stocking some Pony merchandise too in adult female sizes. Sizes ranged from around 6/8 to 18 with some tops being sized by S, M and L, XL (the XL being pretty generous in some t-shirts at around a size 20). For those unable to find them in store but willing to pay over the retail price – there are some being sold on eBay.
Although I’ve searched online I can’t find the same t-shirts as I saw in store so unfortunately, like Primark, it might be a case of visiting a store and checking. Upon my own visit I saw a cream top with a superman logo – I *think* sizes were S to L or XL but the biggest size was pretty generous, I would guess fitting up to a UK 22 comfortably. There was also a grey Star Wars t-shirt with just the Star Wars logo on it. Prices for these t-shirts were around £10. H&M were also stocking some general ‘pow’ type clothing if you’re just looking for something fun and comic-y.
The supermarket giant is currently stocking online a Spider-woman t-shirt for £6 (only size 16 left in stock online, sorry!) as well as a Batgirl pyjama top for £10 in sizes 8-10, 12-14, 16-18 and 20-22. Asda offers delivery for a set price. In store I also saw a Wonder Woman onesie for £13.
I was surprised on my search to find boohoo.com selling some pretty cool comic style dresses from £8 to £15. There’s also free UK saver delivery at the moment if you enter FREEUK at checkout and 20% discount to students. Sizes range from 6 – 14/16.
Forever 21 are offering this Marvel comic dress for £12.75 in sizes 10-12 and 14 (shown as M and L) and this Spiderman jumper for £16.75 in sizes 6 – 14 (shown as US S, M and L) with delivery charges on top.
