If you didn’t play with Lego as a child then I feel bad for you. Lego is essentially a childhood experience that should not be overlooked, in fact I know many adults, myself included, who continue get great joy from sitting on the floor with a pile of bricks and creating.
As with anything that makes money, it was only a matter of time until they brought out a Lego movie and I, for one, welcome it. I have children which inevitably means hours of certain films repeated over and over again. Which means when a children’s film has jokes and themes that fly straight over their heads and tickle my funny bones, it becomes an instant win.
This animated film comes from writers/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and stars quite an impressive voice cast including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson and is bound to be fun with the added awesomeness of Batman (I also I caught a glimpse on Wonder Woman fingers crossed she has more than just a minor appearance). The film is set in the Lego world and tells the story of an ordinary Lego minifig who is mistaken for the extraordinary Master Builder and recruited to join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together.
The film currently has a release date of 7th February 2014. Enjoy the trailer.
