Comics for Equality

Comics for Equality (or ComiX4=, depending on how cool you feel like being) is running a competition entitled *deep breath* The European Award for the Best Unpublished Comics by Authors with Migrant Backgrounds.  It’s a mouthful to say and a handful to type, but it’s actually a pretty simple concept: write and draw a short comic falling into one of the three categories -Stereotypes; Stories of Migration; and The Fight Against Racism- and you could win €1,000.

Now doesn’t that sound like fun?

The deadline for submissions is July 30th, and entry is open to EU member states, EFTA countries and countries on the way to membership.  If you have a story you want to tell, hustle on over there and get scribbling!  If you don’t, get over there anyway and have a read through some of the entries, because they are epic- I’m particularly fond of Petronela Dostalova’s short-but-sweet “Red Met Yellow”.  You can also vote for your favourites by clicking the Like button.

Well, what are you still doing here?  Go go go!

At the time of character creation, Laura Maier made the mistake of putting all her points in charm. While this was probably an unwise decision, it's served her well so far. Her power animal is the platypus.
