Ever since fans of Deadpool saw Ryan Reynolds in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine film, they have longed to see the ‘Merc with a Mouth‘ in his own film or even franchise.
When Reynolds took the role of Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern film that simple dream seemed to be cut adrift, possibly forever. Fans spirits will no doubt be lifted following an interview the actor gave with ‘Yahoo‘. In it, Reynolds opened up a bit about the possibility of the movie being made. According to the Green Lantern star, despite the development process being at a standstill, it took a few ‘very tiny’ steps recently, and he believes the movie will eventually get made.
Many fans of the character will be wondering whether or not the writers will try and stay true to the character based on the graphic novels or if they will attempt to curb his more extreme tendencies to appeal to a larger audience. Whilst this film has the potential to be highly entertaining, it will also be perceived as a huge gamble. Will this film finally get made? Only time will tell.
