When you hear the term “unmanned drone” or “helicopter drone”, most geek minds shift to something from Call of Duty (man I hate those Dragonfire drones!) or an actual military drone. Not Domino’s Pizza.
A Domino’s franchise based in the UK has done a “test delivery” of a pizza using what they affectionately call “The Domicopter”… and it seems they’re serious about making it a standard feature. We shit you not.
The Domicopter (pictured above) is created and operated by a company called AeroSight, and with a successful test, it seems they’re wanting to set up a “Domino’s Flight Academy” going forward for future long-distance deliveries!
Check out the video below:
What do you think? It’s definitely the geekiest pizza delivery I’ve ever seen… but is it a feasible and cost-effective method of delivery? Plus how long will it be before someone shoots the drone down and hijacks the pizza?
